#4 Valderama Golf Club - Spain
While working for Robert Trent Jones SR. I was involved with the remodeling of Valderrama Golf Club. One of the improvements made One of the improvements made during this remodeling was the addition of a cascading stream to the green complex on hole #4. The picture at right shows my actual sketch given to the shaper before construction. An accurate sketch is a valuable tool for conveying ideas for shaping to the machine operators, who perform the final step in the process. Note that the green is slightly different from the sketch. The two front levels were combined into a larger single terrace. Often times during shaping, slight adjustments or even major modifications are made to the design.
